Four ways to work with AI Ready NE

AI Foundations is a 20-minute assembly session designed to give an entire Year 6 cohort a shared starting point. It's built around a simple question that most adults can't fully answer: what actually is AI? From there, it opens up into where it already exists in children's lives, what it can and can't do, and why it matters for their futures.
The session includes a live demonstration moment - the kind that generates a genuine reaction in a room - and closes with an empowerment message: AI is a tool, and understanding it puts you in control of it, not the other way around.

The updated RSHE statutory guidance comes into force on 1 September 2026 and explicitly requires secondary schools to teach pupils about deepfakes, AI-generated content, and the law around it. This session is designed to meet those requirements in full - delivered by an external specialist, with a clear safeguarding protocol in place.
It's a serious topic, handled with care. The session is built around empowerment, not alarm - giving pupils the knowledge and practical tools to understand what's happening, recognise when something isn't right, and know exactly what to do.

AI & Safety builds on the foundations - moving from "what is AI" into the more complex territory of how AI can mislead, what synthetic media looks like, and how to think critically about AI-generated content. It's designed for smaller groups where discussion and interaction can go deeper.
This session is particularly relevant in light of the updated RSHE statutory guidance, which now names AI-generated deepfakes as a safeguarding concern. It gives pupils a practical framework for recognising and responding to synthetic content.
